How Artho works for you
What the seven stages are, why every figure carries a band and a tier, and what the words mean.
The seven stages
Every period moves through them in order
- 1
Declare
Say what the report covers: sites, period, boundaries and the criteria set.
- 2
Bring in
Add the files, readings and counts you already hold. Nothing is retyped.
- 3
Ask
Where a gap remains, ask the person who holds the answer, with a date.
- 4
Reconcile
The engine tests sources against each other, against their combined uncertainty.
- 5
Report
Admitted figures form the report, each with its band and tier.
- 6
Review
A second person decides findings and reviews conclusions.
- 7
Share
The lead shares the issued report, only the sections each recipient is granted.
Why bands and tiers
A single number hides how much is known. Artho shows the median with its P5 to P95 band, so you see the range the true value is likely in, and its tier, so you see how the evidence was obtained. More evidence narrows a band or raises a tier. Artho has no single score of its own.
Glossary
- Median
- The middle estimate of a figure.
- Band (P5 to P95)
- The range the true value falls in about 90% of the time.
- Tier
- How the evidence was obtained, V0 to V3. Evidence quality, not assurance.
- V4-L, V4-R
- Limited or reasonable assurance. Only from a practitioner’s signed report with standard, level, practitioner, period and criteria set.
- Proxy
- A factor from a wider region standing in for a missing regional one. Band widened, tier capped.
- Held out of filing
- Admitted to the report but not yet able to be filed, with the reason stated.
- Combined uncertainty
- The uncertainty of two sources taken together. Divergence is tested against it, never a fixed percentage.
- PROPOSED
- A value suggested by engineering, owned and ratified by the assurance partner.
- Supersede
- Evidence is never edited. A correction is a new record; the old one stays, struck through.
- Advisory
- Weighting, scores and scenarios. Kept in its own frame, never mixed with reporting.
