Where a camera goes
Proposed guidance, for your site’s safety and privacy lead to confirm.
Ochrefield Tower (synthetic)
93% of materials movements pass a watched point (Gate 1), from four weeks of the gate logbook. Gate 3 has no camera, so nothing arriving there is counted.
- Gate 1 (Gate): watched by CAM-GATE-02. Passes: Mixer trucks, deliveries.
- Gate 3 (Gate): not watched. Passes: Occasional deliveries.
- Block-stack bay (Bay): watched by CAM-YARD-01. Passes: Pallets of blocks.
- Store (Store): not watched. Passes: Cement bags, cladding.
- Refuelling point (Refuelling point): not watched. Passes: Diesel tanker and the generator tank.
Generator diesel can be counted on camera, and none watches the refuelling point. A camera there would frame the tank and the vehicle at it.
A second camera of yours adds precision and coverage, not independence: the supplier’s docket is what makes a second party.
Frame the object or vehicle path, never a place for people. Refused at setup (PROPOSED list): Toilet, Washroom, Changing room, Prayer room, Canteen, Rest area, Clinic, Accommodation, Office, Attendance point, Queue. For a thermal camera, also an entrance, doorway, corridor or walkway.
